Circuit Court

No jury trial on December 21st.  Please follow instructions on letter for next trial date.

 

As the highest local court, the Circuit Court handles felonies in the criminal system, appeals from lower courts and civil law suits.

The Greene County Circuit Court schedule is set by Judge Worrell. The Third Tuesday of the month is set for motions beginning at 9:00 AM for Criminal Court and 1:30 PM for Civil Court.

Terms begin the second Monday of even months (Feb., April, June, Aug., Oct., Dec.). On Term Day, the Grand Jury is sworn in, the Grand Jury indictments are considered, and the dockets are reviewed.

Grand Juries, 1st day of Term, 9:00 a.m.
Criminal cases set on Term Day.
Civil cases set by praecipe on Term Day, 11:00 a.m.
Court convenes 9:00 a.m.
Commissioners in Chancery are utilized in some chancery causes.
Motions Day, 3rd Tues. (Criminal 9:00 a.m.; Civil 1:30 p.m.)
