Protective Services to Adults (APS)
Protective Services To Adults (APS) consists of the identification, receipt and investigation of complaints and reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation to those who are over the age of 60 or to persons 18 and older that have a physical or mental impairment (incapacitated). Reports are received 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The goal of the investigation is to determine if the adult is in need of protective services and if so, to decide which services are needed to prevent further abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. To report an APS complaint please call the Greene County Social Services department at 434-985-5246 on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To report an APS complaint after hours or on a weekend, please contact the VA Adult Protective Services Hotline at 1-888-832-3858.
